Puma and Modibodi Introduce Leak-Free Menstrual Underwear – Nonwovens Industry Magazine

Sports company Puma and global waterproof clothing company Modibodi have teamed up to launch a line of leak-free underwear and activewear, created to help women stay comfortable and active during their period while having a positive environmental impact.

Puma and Modibodi believe that everyone who wants to exercise or play sports should have the opportunity to stay active and play, fueling the motivation behind the exclusive global partnership between Puma x Modibodi under the “She Moves Us” platform.

“Even in the 21st century, periods and leaks still prevent women from playing sports. Studies have shown that girls’ participation in sport increases from 69% (11-12 years old) to 45% (13-15 years old). Additionally, the single-use plastic in disposable products can continue to pollute the environment for hundreds of years,” says Erin Longin, Global Run/Train Director at Puma. “As a global brand, we felt it was important to do our part to solve this problem. The Puma x Modibodi collaboration allows women to stay active, without having to worry about leaks, while reducing their monthly waste. menstrual products.

The Puma x Modibodi collection is designed to be reused and replaces the need for disposable pads, liners and tampons, while ensuring that women can stay extremely comfortable, odor-free and protected from all leaks (not just periods). Modibodi’s proprietary modification technology achieves this through its soft, moisture-wicking and sweat-wicking merino wool top layer, an absorbent, quick-drying microfiber middle layer that traps fluids and odors, and protective additional raincoat in the bottom layer.

“No woman should have to sit on the sidelines of life because she’s on her period or leaking urine,” says Kristy Chong, CEO and Founder of Modibodi. “We are thrilled to launch this collection with Puma and together to normalize menstruation and challenge the stigma that women cannot be active during their period or when experiencing one of life’s leaks. “

As part of the launch, Puma and Modibodi will work with Puma’s She Moves Us charity partner, Women Win, to donate a pack of five briefs to 500 girls and women in need. This five pack covers a person for their monthly cycle and will last up to four years to allow the person to confidently participate in sport and life without the leaks of life getting in their way.

The first collection of Puma x Modibodi active underwear will be available in May 2022 in selected stores and online at puma.com and modibodi.com.
