Ecowipes to Increase Production of Carded Pulp Wipes – Nonwovens Industry Magazine

Ecowipes will add a second carded pulp line to meet demand for flushable wipes in international markets. The line, which will be supplied by Trützschler Nonwovens and Voith, will be located in Poland. The carded/pulp technology of Trützschler and Voith offers products that are both efficient and of superior quality. Voith’s BlueLine stock preparation equipment and FloatLip cylindrical mold former processes paper stock, the profitable raw material for the paper industry. It delivers an extremely homogeneous wet slick. The NCT high-speed card, supplied by Trützschler Nonwovens, lays a light layer of viscose or lyocell fibers on it. This configuration allows for precise stratification and efficient dewatering. Trützschler’s AquaJet entwines the two layers into an inseparable composite nonwoven with superior functionality. A multi-drum dryer and a powerful winder complete the production line which allows production rates of up to 300 m/min.

Ecowipes wipes benefit from a high pulp content, which significantly reduces production costs. To optimize its production processes, Ecowipes relies on digital solutions provided especially for the old and new Trützschler/Voith line.

Ecowipes CEO Gabriel Kermiche says, “Trützschler and Ecowipes have come a long way together. When Voith and Trützschler developed its CP technology on an industrial scale a few years ago, we took the risk – and it paid off. Even faster than we thought. Our CP products are in great demand in Poland, Europe and even abroad. Based on this technology and with our own internal process innovations, we have developed our patented Tricell substrate.
