Drax Project is set to become “Crazy”, also the name of its latest release. On January 21, New Zealand’s brightest live band celebrate the release of their first single since the country emerged from lockdown. Composed of Shaan Singh (vocals, sax, keyboard), Matt Beachen (drums), Sam Thomson (bass, keyboard, BV) and Ben O’Leary (guitar, keyboard, BV), Drax Project paves the way to become one of the groups most popular to come out of New Zealand.
From true humble beginnings, playing as jazz students on the streets of Wellington, Drax Project closed stages all over the world, even opening for everyone including Ed Sheeran, Cristina Aguilera, Lorde, Brian McKnight and Camila Cabello. Proud of their live performances, the group has racked up over 400 million streams and even received their first gold plaque in the United States for their single “Woke Up Late” featuring Hailee Steinfeld.
With the release of “Crazy,” Drax Project creates the perfect TGIF anthem, intentionally created so you can roll down the windows and enjoy the cool breeze of everyday life. The disc features jazz-infused melodies, rhythmic snares and unmistakable bass paired with the quartet’s electronic voice.
