Genres/Influences: Electro-Ambient, Experimental, Cinematic.
Format: Digital, CD.
Background information: Andreas Davids and Sven Phalanx are back on track unleashing a new opus stemming from their shared interest in Ambient music. They have already released two albums on Infacted and earlier this year another (mini)-album on Mahorka. This work is a tribute to a German science fiction series “Commander Perkins”.
Contents: Work continues where previous versions left off. A totally Space-Ambient Electro format with slow rhythms. The songs feature many spoken samples related to the theme and soundscape of “Dimensionsbrecher”. Pure reverie and cinematographic passages which are not then alternated with darker passages.
+ + +: There is a real chemistry between the two musicians which is transposed in the intelligence and the sound diversity. The album is fully accessible through the slow cadences injecting a danceable touch into the work. I like the frosty and relaxing atmosphere of which this work has been made.
– – –: Even if the songs are carried by slow rhythms, it remains above all a work just to be listened to or mixed with visual content. There remains an atypical version on the Infacted list.
Conclusion: “Dimensionsbrecher” sounds like a sound bridge between the pioneers of Ambient and contemporary productions of the genre.
Best Songs: “Frieden”, “Das Tor Zu Einer Anderen Welt”, “Spaceboy”, “Energiekontakt”.
